Since its inception in 2013, the National Space Club and Foundation has been providing a unique platform for a student to deliver the keynote speech at the annual Goddard Memorial Dinner, a highly esteemed event in the space industry. The student should be planning to build a career in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), and should demonstrate academic excellence and superior public speaking skills.
Along with the honor of addressing the audience at the Goddard Memorial Dinner, the chosen student will also be awarded a scholarship worth $20,000. This scholarship is open to U.S. citizens who are high school seniors or graduate students enrolled in an accredited educational institution in the United States, and who are committed to pursuing a career in the STEM fields.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant should be a U.S. citizen.
- The scholarship is available to high school seniors and graduate students.
- The applicant should be committed to pursuing a career in the STEM fields and should plan to enroll in an accredited U.S. college or university to follow a course of study in the STEM field, with a preference for those interested in space-related fields.
- The $20,000 scholarship can only be used towards tuition for the 2026-2027 academic year.
- The applicant should not have previously delivered a speech at the Dr. Robert H. Goddard Memorial Dinner.
Important Points to Remember
- The completed application and video should be uploaded to the National Space Club and Foundation website by 11:59:59 PM EST on Monday, November 17, 2025.
- The unofficial transcript and letters of recommendation should be combined into a single PDF. This can be done using a scanner or at a print shop like Kinkos. Please be aware that the National Space Club may request original stamped/signed copies of the transcript at any stage during the application process.
- If shortlisted, the applicant should be available for a live audition via video conference with the NSCF executive committee in early January 2026.
- The recipient should be available to deliver a speech at the 2026 Goddard Memorial Dinner on March 13, 2026. Travel and accommodation for the recipient and one guest will be arranged by the National Space Club and Foundation.
- The scholarship check will be issued to the college or university, payable to the respective institution, no later than June 27, 2026.
- Only the winner will be notified on December 12, 2025. Non-recipients will not receive any notification. Applicants can check www.spaceclub.org for the announcement of the scholarship winner.
