Nick Cobb Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers
US $10,000 Nick Cobb Memorial Scholarship — Overview
The Nick Cobb Memorial Scholarship provides a $10,000 award to an exceptional graduate student pursuing advanced lithography or a closely related discipline. Award funds may be applied toward tuition and mandatory fees, course textbooks, required supplies and equipment, and the purchase or upgrade of a personal computer.
This scholarship is funded jointly by Siemens EDA and SPIE. In addition to the $10,000 award, Siemens EDA pays travel expenses for the recipient to attend the SPIE Advanced Lithography conference to receive the honor in person.
The scholarship commemorates Nick Cobb, an SPIE Senior Member and former Chief Engineer at Mentor Graphics (now part of Siemens EDA), in recognition of his influential work that enabled optical and process proximity correction for integrated circuit manufacturing.
