At Hampton Roads Pride, we understand the significance of making a positive impact on the lives of individuals within our community. We are thrilled to announce that, during PrideFest in June 2025, we will be awarding scholarships totaling up to $40,000.
These scholarships are merit-based, considering academic achievements and, notably, community involvement. Hampton Roads Pride is committed to supporting the educational pursuits of individuals who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, or Questioning (LGBTQ+), or those affiliated with related communities (including, but not limited to, Intersex, Asexual, Pansexual, Two-spirit, Nonbinary, Agender, and Genderqueer). Additionally, we extend our scholarship opportunities to LGBTQ+ allies—individuals who may not identify as LGBTQ+ but wholeheartedly support and ally with the LGBTQ+ community.
The scholarships will be disbursed directly to each recipient's educational institution in June. Please note - scholarship recipients are expected to attend PrideFest to be recognized for their achievements. Selected scholarship recipients will be notified of their awards via email, but due to our high volume of applications, not all applicants will be notified if not selected as a recipient. Hampton Roads Pride believes in fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all and is proud to promote educational empowerment within our diverse community.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning (LGBTQ+)
- LGBTQ+ allies are also encouraged to apply (those who do not identify as LGBTQ+, but who are allied with and support the LGBTQ+ community).
- Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above.
Geographical Eligibility: Applicants must reside in the Commonwealth of Virginia in one of the following areas:

- Hampton
- Isle of Wight
- James
- Newport News
- Norfolk
- Northampton
- Poquoson
- Portsmouth
- Suffolk
- Virginia Beach
- Williamsburg
- York
