PM Legacy Scholarship — 2025–2026 Overview
Timeline
- Applications open: October 1, 2025
- Application deadline: February 28, 2026
- Recipients notified: April 30, 2026
- Funds issued to schools (latest): June 30, 2026
Award and payment method
- Forty-five (45) recipients will each receive a $2,000 PM Legacy Scholarship.
- Scholarship payments are sent only by electronic wire transfer directly to the recipient’s college or university. The PM Foundation will not issue checks under any circumstances. If your institution cannot accept a wire transfer, the award cannot be paid. Confirm wiring procedures with your bursar or student accounts office before applying.
Application completeness
- Incomplete or missing materials will result in disqualification. Depending on when an application is disqualified, you may be unable to reapply during the same award cycle.
Who may apply (eligibility)
Applicants must meet all of the following:
- Be a resident of — or be attending college in — Pennsylvania, Georgia, or the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area (DMV), OR be enrolled at a recognized Historically Black College or University (HBCU).
- Be entering (freshman) or currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Provide a letter of acceptance to an accredited degree program with a major in a Human Services–related field. Acceptable majors include, but are not limited to: Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Sociology, Medicine, Nursing, Home Health, Public Health, and Public Administration.
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50.
Required application materials
- Completed application form (by February 28, 2026).
- Essay (subject to evaluation as part of the selection process).
- Official final high school transcript (for incoming freshmen) OR an official full college transcript (for current college students).
- Two formal letters of recommendation submitted as PDF or Word documents; each letter must include the recommender’s contact information.
- Any other documents requested on the application form.
Selection criteria
Recipients are chosen based on academic achievement, demonstrated leadership potential, involvement in extracurricular or community activities, the strength of recommendations, and the quality of the essay submission.
