MartinWren, P.C. is excited to present an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to alleviate their financial stress. The law firm has introduced a new scholarship titled "A Second Chance: How My Accident Changed My Goals for the Future," which offers $2,500 to a student who can share a compelling story of transformation.

The firm's scholarship selection committee is calling for all eligible students to submit video essays detailing their experiences with life-altering accidents. The deadline for video submissions is August 31, 2025. Following this, the legal team at MartinWren, P.C. will select one deserving student to receive their financial support for the 25/26 academic year.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the "A Second Chance: How My Accident Changed My Goals for the Future" Scholarship by MartinWren, P.C., students must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Be an undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing
  • Be enrolled in or accepted to an accredited college, university, or graduate school

  • Complete the scholarship application form on the MartinWren, P.C. website
  • Upload a link to their scholarship video essay (an unlisted YouTube video) on the website

Video Essay Topic

Applicants for the "A Second Chance: How My Accident Changed My Goals for the Future" scholarship should create a video essay, lasting between one to two minutes, that addresses the following question:

  • How did your future plans change following a traumatic car accident?

Applicants should reflect on how the accident impacted their lives and reshaped their future aspirations. This could be due to significant physical injuries or emotional transformations.

Once the video essays are complete, they should be uploaded as unlisted content on YouTube. A link to this unlisted video should be included in the scholarship application form on the MartinWren, P.C. website.

Guidelines for Video Essays

When producing their video essays, students should:

  • Record in well-lit areas and keep their recording device as steady as possible
  • State their full name and the name of the scholarship at the start or end of the video, and give necessary credits
  • Include any sources of information and the media editing tools used in the video description
  • Use only copyright-free content and create a creative, engaging title that reflects their ideas

While students can use media editing software like Adobe Creative Cloud to enhance their content, it's not mandatory. MartinWren, P.C. will not favor highly-edited videos over unedited ones.

Students are prohibited from using AI to generate videos, create fake actors, or avoid appearing in their own video essays. Misuse of AI will lead to automatic disqualification from the scholarship selection process.

Application Deadline

The deadline for completing and submitting scholarship video essays and other application materials is August 31, 2025. Applications received after this date will not be considered by MartinWren, P.C. Incomplete applications will also be disregarded by the scholarship selection committee.

The committee may take up to three months after the scholarship's closing date to select a winner. The firm will only contact the successful applicant. Students and their families are advised not to contact MartinWren, P.C. for updates on their application status.
