Established in 2003 at East Tennessee Foundation by friends and family of J.C. “Rip” Miller and John Vicars. The scholarship is named to honor these two leaders who placed a high value on encouraging others. They both served the community as lifelong coaches and educators.

$2,300 one-year award
Eligibility
The Miller/Vicars Scholarship is for graduating seniors of either Gate City, Rye Cove, or Twin Springs High School and live in Scott County, Virginia. Eligible students must be U.S. citizens, have financial need, and plan to enroll in college full-time.
Complete the East Tennessee Foundation Common Application between December 15 and March 15 to see if you are eligible for this and other scholarship awards.
