We appreciate your interest in submitting an application for Spotlight! Spotlight is a competition that not only offers cash scholarships but also fosters artistic growth to empower high school students. We focus on nurturing preparation, bravery, critical thinking, and persistence, while providing a priceless chance for students to refine their performance abilities. We warmly invite Southern California High School students of all abilities to apply at no cost. Each year, we distribute $100,000 in cash scholarships to students, along with personalized feedback, the chance to attend master classes with globally recognized artists, and more! Spotlight is a blend of competition and education, always ensuring a fun experience. The application process is simple; just complete an application form and upload a video!
Application Requirements:
- You must be a high school student attending a public, private, online, or home school in Southern California. Your primary residence should be in one of the following counties: Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Diego, Riverside, Kern, or San Bernardino. Dance and Ballet students should refer to the category rules page for exceptions regarding out-of-state residency.
- As of December 31, 2025, you must be a registered high school student. Full-time college students are not eligible.
- Students who progress to the Grand Prize Finals must be available to attend both the rehearsal and the show. The date will be announced later.
- You can apply to one or more of the following categories: Acting, Ballet, Dance, Classical Voice, Non-Classical Voice, Classical Instrumental, or Contemporary Instrumental. There's no limit to the number of categories you can apply for!
- Ensure you read all the crucial information provided in the application, even if it seems tedious.
- The online application must be completed by October 13, 2025. Avoid procrastination!
- Prepare and upload your audition video.
- Your parent or guardian must give their consent for your participation.
