Allied Van Lines is a firm believer in the power of education to transform lives. We understand that a quality education is a crucial stepping stone for everyone, from fresh high school graduates to seasoned professionals seeking to enhance their skills and career prospects.

With this in mind, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our inaugural Military Logistics/Supply Chain Management/Operational Management Scholarship. This scholarship is open to all eligible active or former military personnel and their dependents. At the end of the competition, two fortunate winners will each receive a $1,000 scholarship. Please refer to the guidelines below for more details on how to enter, the selection process, and other relevant information.

Details of the Award:

  • Two scholarships will be given out.
  • Each scholarship is worth $1,000, making the total scholarship fund $2,000.
  • The scholarship will be paid directly to the winner’s school via a check sent to the winner’s home address.

How to Enter:

Submit a short essay of 400 to 800 words explaining why you have chosen logistics/supply chain management as your college major. We encourage a personal and sincere tone, sharing your experiences and feelings—there's no need for excessive formality. We're interested in understanding why you genuinely believe logistics is the right career path for you!

Application Process:

  • Fill out all sections of the application form provided below.
  • Attach the following documents to your application form:
  1. Your most recent academic transcripts.
  2. Proof of enrollment at your college.
  3. Your essay.
  4. A copy of your DD214 (member 4) or a signed letter from Command verifying active duty status.

Who Can Apply:

  • U.S. Citizens or permanent residents.
  • Full-time students enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited U.S. college/university to pursue an undergraduate degree in Logistics or a related field.
  • Applicants must fall into one of the following categories:
  1. An honorably discharged veteran or current member of the active military (including National Guard and Reserves).
  2. A spouse of a current military service member or honorably discharged veteran.
  3. A child (under age 21 or a full-time student under age 23) of a current military service member or honorably discharged veteran.
  • Only one entry per person is allowed.
  • Allied Van Lines employees, professional affiliates, and agents (and their immediate families) are not eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must meet IRS rules to qualify for the tax-free benefits of the scholarship, including the following:
  1. The scholarship does not exceed your expenses.
  2. The scholarship is not designated or earmarked for other purposes (like room and board), and does not stipulate that it cannot be used for qualified education expenses.
  3. The scholarship does not represent payment for teaching, research, or other services required as a condition for receiving the scholarship.
  • You must be a Candidate for a Degree, which means you:
  1. Are attending a primary or secondary school or are pursuing a degree at a college or university, or
  2. Are attending an educational institution that:
    1. Offers a program that is acceptable for full credit toward a bachelor's or higher degree, or provides a program of training to prepare students for gainful employment in a recognized occupation; and
    2. Is authorized under federal or state law to provide such a program and is accredited by a nationally recognized accreditation agency
  • An eligible educational institution is one that primarily provides formal instruction and typically maintains a regular faculty and curriculum and a regularly enrolled student body at the place where it conducts its educational activities.
  • Qualified education expenses, for the purposes of tax-free scholarships and fellowship grants, include:
  1. Tuition and fees required to enroll at or attend an eligible educational institution; and
  2. Course-related expenses, such as fees, books, supplies, and equipment that are required for the courses at the eligible educational institution. These items must be required of all students in your course of instruction.
  • Qualified education expenses do not include the cost of:
  1. Room and board, Travel, Research, Clerical help, or Equipment and other expenses that are not required for enrollment in or attendance at an eligible educational institution

The deadline for all applications is December 15, 2025. All applications must be complete and submitted by this date.
