Thanks to the dedication of Bill Collar, a Hall of Fame coach and past president of the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA), a scholarship worth $1000.00 is being offered to a senior player who is endorsed by a WFCA member. The scholarship recipient will be unveiled at the WFCA Spring Clinic's annual Awards Banquet.

SCHOLARSHIP TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

  1. The scholarship emphasizes leadership, both personal and team-based. Personal leadership is interpreted as the ability to make sound decisions, while team leadership is seen as positively influencing others. Candidates for this leadership scholarship must demonstrate both personal and team leadership.
  2. The athlete's behavior on the football field, in the classroom, in the weight room, and in the community should be taken into account.
  3. Eligibility for the award requires the candidate to have earned a letter for their performance as an offensive or defensive lineman.
  4. The $1000.00 scholarship will be disbursed upon successful completion of the first semester in college or technical school. To claim the award, the recipient must present their first semester grades to the WFCA Scholarship Committee Chairman, who will then authorize the release of the funds.
  5. Any candidate who has received a full football scholarship will not be eligible for the Lineman’s Leadership Scholarship.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

  1. Fill out the personal information section on the application form provided.
  2. On a separate piece of paper, articulate why you believe this candidate is deserving of the Lineman’s Leadership Scholarship.
  3. The person nominating must be an active member of the WFCA.
  4. Submit the completed application form to Bill Collar no later than December 1st.
