Kids’ Chance of Nebraska takes immense pride in offering scholarships for post-secondary education and vocational training to children of Nebraska workers who have suffered severe or fatal injuries in work-related accidents.

As a non-profit organization, Kids’ Chance of Nebraska is committed to generating educational funds for the children of Nebraska workers who have been impacted by serious or fatal occupational injuries. Our mission is to assist these children in achieving their educational aspirations, realizing their objectives, and actualizing their future dreams.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicants must either possess a high school diploma, GED, or be a high school student in good standing set to graduate in the current academic year.
  • Applicants must be dependents of a parent who has experienced a work-related fatality or injuries that have significantly impacted the family's income.
  • The scholarship funds can be utilized for vocational/technical school, junior college, undergraduate or graduate programs.
  • The scholarship funds must exclusively be used for tuition, fees, or room and board (payments will be made directly to the institution).
  • Before the scholarship is awarded, applicants must prove that they meet the minimum acceptance criteria for the institution they have applied to. This can be done by either submitting the formal acceptance letter from the institution or providing documentation (transcripts, test scores) that meet the institution’s minimum admission criteria.
  • Scholarship awards are dependent on the availability of funds and may be renewed.
  • Scholarship funds will be disbursed each semester, subject to board approval confirming that the recipient is still enrolled in the educational institution and meeting the required criteria.
