With a rich history of assisting clients grappling with life-altering medical conditions, the Schiller Kessler Group understands the battles these individuals face. They must strive for their conditions to be acknowledged while learning to navigate their new health realities. In honor of these brave individuals, we are offering support to students facing similar challenges.

Our firm is introducing The Healing Journey Scholarship, a $2,500 award for an undergraduate or graduate student who has experienced a significant medical diagnosis. We invite students to share their experiences and discuss how their diagnosis has reshaped their perspective on life.

Students are required to submit their applications by August 31, 2025, for the scholarship selection committee's review.

Eligibility Criteria

The Healing Journey Scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students from all fields of study. To be eligible, students must provide proof of enrollment or acceptance at an accredited college, university, or graduate school in the United States.

Applicants are required to submit a complete scholarship application and agree to the scholarship's terms and conditions. Please complete the application form on this page and upload your scholarship essay in PDF format.

While you are not required to provide medical records or detailed personal data about your qualifying condition, any misrepresentation or fabrication of health conditions will result in immediate disqualification from the scholarship application process.

Essay Topic for the Scholarship

Applicants for The Healing Journey Scholarship are required to write an essay of up to 1,000 words detailing how a medical diagnosis has transformed their lives. A representative from our firm states:

“As personal injury attorneys, we often work with victims of injuries and are privileged to accompany them on their path to recovery. Whether you've suffered an accident or been diagnosed with a serious illness, we invite you to share your healing journey for a chance to receive our scholarship award.”

Feel free to explore various aspects of your life and explain how your condition has affected your physical health, emotional wellbeing, academic pursuits, or social interactions. We also encourage you to share any advice you may have for others currently striving to rebuild their lives.”

Selection Process & Award Notification

Interested students must submit their completed application for The Healing Journey Scholarship before the deadline. The application packet should include all necessary materials.

Applications received after the deadline or missing any required materials will be excluded from consideration.

The scholarship selection committee may take up to three months to review the essays and select a recipient. Factors such as age, race, religion, gender, national origin, family status, or other protected classes will not influence the committee's decision.

Upon finalizing their decision, the committee will notify the successful student via email. The Schiller Kessler Group will then publicly announce the winner through a blog post and press release. We kindly request that students and their families refrain from contacting the team for updates on the scholarship application's status before this announcement.
