Overview
The Donald L. Lampus Scholarship Fund, established at The Pittsburgh Foundation, provides a renewable scholarship to graduates of the school district that serves the Borough of Springdale. Its purpose is to help students continue their education—either through an accredited vocational/technical trade program or by attending a two- or four-year college or university.
Who is eligible
- Must be a graduating senior from a school in the district that includes the Borough of Springdale.
- Intend to pursue studies in one of the designated fields: natural science, mathematics, engineering, business administration, or the construction trades.
- Plan to enroll in an accredited vocational/technical trade school or a 2- or 4-year college or university.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 at the time of application.
Academic requirement for continued funding
- Recipients are required to maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA in their chosen field of study for ongoing, multi-year award eligibility.
Application checklist
- Complete and submit the scholarship application.
- Provide the essay portion of the application.
- Include your FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS). If you do not yet have an FSS, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to obtain it.
- Supply one letter of reference from a coach, mentor, current or former employer, or another professional sponsor that speaks to your determination, drive, and goals.
- Attach unofficial transcripts.
