Empowering Families Scholarship

Introduction
The Empowering Families Scholarship awards $1,000 each semester to an undergraduate student who intends to become a family law attorney. This scholarship recognizes the unique demands of family law—providing compassionate counsel while vigorously protecting clients during difficult matters such as divorce and child custody disputes.
Eligibility
Applicants should be pursuing a career in divorce and family law and demonstrate a commitment to supporting families through the complexities of the Texas family law system. To qualify for the Spring 2025 Empowering Families Scholarship, you must meet all of the following:
- Be an undergraduate student enrolled in a pre-law program.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Be enrolled or planning to enroll for the Spring 2025 semester.
- Be a permanent resident of the United States.
- Be at least 18 years old.
Application requirements
All applicants must submit a 90-second video essay uploaded to YouTube (YouTube link required). In addition to the video, include the following documents:
- Verification of current undergraduate enrollment (college or university).
- Documentation that you are in a pre-law course of study.
- Official or unofficial proof of your GPA.

Applications that include the video and the three pieces of documentation above will be considered for the Spring 2025 Empowering Families Scholarship.
